Indirect impact of lightning discharge on a grounding grid

The paper deals with an indirect impact of the lightning discharge on a grounding grid. To analyze the electromagnetic coupling between the electromagnetic wave generated by an indirect lightning strike and grounding system we use the concept of electric dipole to calculate the lightning induced and the transmission line approximation combined with finite differences to determine induced currents and voltages along the grounding grid. We tested the proposed approach in an application dealing with real geometrical data for the lightning channel and grounding grid used in the power network.
