Results of catalyst tests at the PG&E/EPRI ASCR pilot plant

This paper presents results from the PG&E/EPRI advanced selective catalytic reduction (ASCR) 3-MWe slipstream pilot plant located at PG&E`s gas/oil-fired Morro Bay Power Plant. Specifically, results of tests using an {open_quotes}in-duct{close_quotes} ASCR configuration and a catalytic air preheater (APH) are covered. Results from the in-duct ASCR tests include catalyst performance during oil-fired operation, APH deposition during oil-fired operation, and the effect of selective catalytic reduction on visible plume characteristics during oil-fired operation. Initial performance results for the catalytic APH tests are presented.
