Optimal reactive power splitting in wind power plants controlled by double-fed induction generator

High-power wind converters are operated with maximal active power utilization. One of the additional important features is the phase shifter operation. To determine the proportionate reactive power through the generator or by the front-end converter is a further optimization problem. As the optimal criterion, the converter and generator loading has been chosen. The solution is explained using a 0.6/1.5 MW windpower station.
