Fiber Supercontinuum Generation: Fundamentals to Applications

We review supercontinuum generation and nonlinear optics in highly nonlinear and photonic crystal optical fibers. We emphasise the supercontinuum stability properties, and discuss design criteria allowing supercontinuum spectra to be tailored to particular applications.
