Phase noise suppression for OFDM system with sparse constraint

One major disadvantage of OFDM is its high sensitivity to phase noise introduced by local oscillators. Although several algorithms have been addressed in the literature to mitigate the effects of phase noise, there are two unsolvable problems for the current study of phase noise suppression that the CPE correction algorithms are based on the perfect channel state information and the ICI suppression methods perform poorly or will reduce the spectral efficiency in some cases. In this paper, we propose two novel algorithms for phase noise suppression. The proposed methods can effectively suppress CPE and ICI using the sparse property of channel impulse response (CIR) without the prior knowledge of CIR and the spectrum expenses.
