A Review of Evaluation Methods and Techniques for Simulation Packages

Abstract Given the varied benefits of using the simulation packages such as; cost efficiency, time, risk mitigation, greater insights and user friendliness of systems. It has been extensively used in many application domains such as defense, airports, manufacturing, engineering, and healthcare. Currently, due to the increasing numbers of simulation software packages available in the market, it is often challenging to choose a suitable package that meets users’ demands. Researchers have leveraged many assessment methods and techniques to facilitate the evaluation and selection process of the simulation packages. This paper provides a survey corroborated from researcher's contributions to simplify the selection process of simulation packages. Also, discerns the evaluation methods and techniques for simulation packages found in the literature.
