The purposes of this study were (1) to manifest the meaning and function of the trainer on the basis of his role, and to establish his universal concept, (2) to present measures for improving the quality of trainers with intention of achieving qualitative management of trainers, (3) to suggest to those who are ready to be a trainer in a way how to manage a practical business. Almost all the enterprises in Korea except for a small number had not yet established an educational ideology or plan peculiar to their own situation, introduce without discrimination the training technique or training materials from other countries or from other companies. Therefore they practised the kind of education of unknown nationality, or of education lacking ownership and the enterprise`s spirit. To solve these problems, the roles of job trainers must be established. This study suggested some factors to determine the roles of job trainers. These factors were (1) the definition of the trainer, (2) the significance of his existence, (3) the manifestation of his role, (4) prerequisites of his qualification, (5) his attitude, (6) his mission, (7) his responsibility, (8) his basic duties, (9) the management of practical business, (10) the management and application of instructions, (11) educational evaluation, (12) deliberate selection of trainers and rearing and management of them.
