A new species of talpid insectivore from the Miocene of Saskatchewan

Domninoides storeri, n.sp., is based on mandibular rami with teeth from the Upper Miocene Wood Mountain Formation at the Kleinfelder Farm locality near Rockglen, Saskatchewan. It has four premolars, of which P1, and P3 are single-rooted, P2 and P4 double-rooted, with P2 set obliquely on the jaw. There is a small metastylid on M2 and M3, but the crista oblique terminates separately, near the summit of the metaconid. D. storeri can be distinguished from other species of the genus in the Lower and Upper Miocene and Lower Pliocene of the western United States.
