Linux administration: K-12 special session

Linux is an incredibly popular and powerful operating system, originally developed by Linus Torvalds, in 1991, as an alternative to UNIX. Linux is particularly noted for its a) stability and robustness (some of the largest companies in the world rely on it) b) openness (its complete source code is freely available) c) performance, including its ability to run well on low-end computer hardware d) cost: Linux, and many if not most of its applications, can be downloaded and installed for free, under the GNU General Public License.
