The grammatical system of a language is crucial in the language learning process as it is the essence tofurther understand the language itself. A lucid understanding of grammar will not only depict the right orwrong use of the language, rather it can facilitate the language learners’ competence to opt for an accuratediscourse. Notwithstanding, the process of teaching and learning grammar is and should not be belittledThe process is regularly depicted as dull and tedious as it is often done en masse through the inductive
approach. Therefore, the application of a contemporary technique is imperative in the process of teachingand learning grammar to further improve the teachers’ professionalism. Today, linguistic researchers haveilluminated the significance of incorporating corpus linguistics into the field of education by presenting a
new dimension to teach the Malay grammar. The present paper thus seeks to scrutinise the Malay languageteachers’ perception on the incorporation of corpus data in teaching grammar at schools.
