Constitutive Equation for Compaction of Ceramic Powders

Die compaction is a widely applied technique for consolidation of ceramic powders. However, closed-die operations result in inhomogeneous densification. Die wall friction and complicated die shapes contribute to this. To reduce production costs, optimum processing is required. Thus, there is a need for a rational characterization and prediction of powder behavior.
