THE JANUS TRANSDUCER FAMILY

The Janus transducer is a symmetrical length expander source, composed essentially of a long stack sandwiched between two identical headmasses. It is a low frequency source. From this simple concept, other transducers were developed, which have improved particular properties of the structure. This paper describes each member of the family with its own characteristics and its fields of applications. At present, this family includes the classical Janus, the high power Janus and the Helmholtz Janus, the latter being the most innovative.
