As the advanced distribution simulation (ADS) technique is applied widely, the large-scale complex system simulation (LCSS) is more and more valued all over the world. Credibility is the basic life line for LCSS. To assure the credibility of LCSS, it is very significant to study verification, validation and accreditation (VV&A) in modeling and simulation (M&S) all the life cycle. In this paper, the methodology and process of VV&A were researched, and the VV&A process is focused. The VV&A methodology for LCSS are represented from the theoretic point. The process modeling of VV&A based on the UML is researched. Taking an example for the HLA simulation system, the VV&A is studied. The practice shows that this research will give good guidance to the VV&A job for LCSS, which will ensure the credibility of simulation.
