Engine Testing by Minicomputer

Abstract Long term testing is one part in engine development work. The use of digital computers in such a test facility has shown great benefits in timesaving, and accuracy of setting and measurement of test parameters. A large number of readings can be recorded simultaneously. They are mathematically processed and the results presented. Due to the fact that no human operation is involved in this chain there are practically no errors in the system. It is also possible to use the computer itself as the controller and monitor of the various engine parameters.
