The XIIth International Congress of Pure and Applied Chemistry

THE largest gathering of chemists probably ever held will take place in New York City early in September 1951. The AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY will celebrate its seventy-fifth anniversary Sept. 4 to 7, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry will hold its XVIth Conference, Sept. 8 and 9, and will sponsor the XIIth International Congress of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Sept. 10 to 13, with four full days of scientific papers and discussions. The union closes its conference Sept. 14 and 15 in Washington during which time it will unite with the chemistry division of the National Bureau of Standards in the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the bureau.
