Theoretical Researches on Damping Characteristics of MR Damper With Exterior Coil

Based on the MR damper with exterior coil designed by the author the magnetic induction at the MR fluid gap was studied with the magnetic finite element analysis module of ANSYS software.The relation between the damping force of MR damper and the coil current and the damping performance of MR damper were theoretically researched.Research results show that the designed MR damper with exterior coil has wider adjusting range of damping force and stronger energy dissipation ability.
