Performance of THz fiber-scanning near-field microscopy to diagnose breast tumors

Based on the statistics of 20 female patients, we demonstrate that the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of the THz fiber-scanning near-field microscopy to examine breast tumor sections are all as high as 100%. It will be very useful for quick definition of the tumor margins during the surgical procedure such as breast-conserving surgery.
