Research on Location of Medical Equipment in A Rapidly Deployable Emergency Medical Team

Objective The emergency medical team will often face urgent tasks and complex environment. If we have the ability of real-time location of medical equipment in the management, the efficiency will be greatly improved.According to the above requirements, this paper proposes a rapidly deployable medical equipment management system based on active RFID.Methods The GPS module was installed on each RFID reader and reference RFID tags. The path loss index within this region was estimated by the distance and RSSI of reader to reference tags using the radio frequency exponential attenuation model. The relative distance of target RFID tags and the reader was got using the RSSI and the path loss index. Then the circular positioning method and least square method were used to calculate the relative position. Results After the initial simulation, the average positioning accuracy can reach 2.61 and 5.84 m in the central and edge region respective when the standard deviation of shielding factor was 0.2dB.Conclusion This paper proposes a medical equipment location method with the combination of GPS and active RFID positioning method. This method can be rapidly deployed in the complex environment.Through simulation, this method can achieve repeatability and positioning accuracy.
