Reactive power sharing in islanded microgrids using distributed constraint satisfaction

This paper proposes a distributed constraint satisfaction approach for islanded microgrids (IMGs) in order to improve the accuracy of reactive power sharing. The proposed control scheme takes the operation constraints of the entire IMG system into account. It aims to periodically adjust the voltage droop parameter settings based on a peer-to-peer cooperative protocol among the local controllers of droop based distributed generation (DG) units. The proposed distributed constraint satisfaction has been solved using an asynchronous weak commitment technique. Several case studies have been conducted to test the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed approach.
