The invention discloses a power matching system for an electronic control engine and a volume adjustable hydraulic pump, which comprises the electronic control engine, an engine controller, a master controller and a proportional solenoid. The engine controller is used for measuring actual rotating speed of the electronic control engine, the master controller is used for comparing the actual rotating speed with acquired target rotating speed, if the actual rotating speed is smaller than the target rotating speed and the difference between the target rotating speed and the actual rotating speed is larger than a set threshold value, suitable fine adjustment current is outputted to the proportional solenoid according to the difference, the opening of the solenoid is increased according to the received fine adjustment current, and the volume adjustable hydraulic pump runs under the effect of power of the electronic control engine. The rotating speed of the electronic control engine is increased by means of reducing load of the electronic control engine, oil consumption for adjusting the rotating speed of the electronic control engine via the engine controller is reduced, and simultaneously, the volume adjustable hydraulic pump stably runs at the optimal power point of the electronic control engine. The invention further provides a method corresponding to the system.
