Planning for usability testing

This chapter discusses essential planning steps for usability testing. The planning process can be divided into a number of steps, which begin with pulling together the people who will be part of the planning process and setting a time for the planning meeting. After determining who should be invited to the meeting, the developer needs an agenda so that the attendees can prepare and bring the appropriate information to make the meeting productive. The agenda items for the meeting include: setting test goals by deciding what's most important to learn from users in the stud y, determining how to test the product by discussing what to test, where to test, and how to set up the test, drafting the screeners based on the characteristics of the user subgroups, selecting the tasks to put into scenarios by matching developers' goals with users' goals, and setting dates for testing and deliverables for the test and the test results.
