Efficient Animation Rendering Based on Spatio-Temporal Coherence

In this paper, we present a new animation rendering method based on spatio-temporal coherence; it can improve the efficiency of ray generation and reduce temporal noise in animation. Beginning with an initial set of light samples produced by Monte Carlo path tracing, then use path mutation strategies to redistribution the energy of the samples over the current frame, during the path mutation, use similar method reuse the mutated path to the neighboring frames. We use dynamic update KD-Tree method in animation rendering architecture to accelerated building KD-Tree. Our results show that the rendering efficiency, particularly in scene of indirect lighting, can be notably improved by our technique.
