A method to obtain the directional wave spectrum

A straight method is shown to obtain the directional wave spectrum with three wave gauges. The convergence of the estimated spectrum to the actual spectrum is proved through numerical simulations of random wind-generated waves. The convergence occurs as the length of the time series data grows.
