Chapter 26 – Case Studies

In this chapter different projects will be discussed. The discussion will be based on construction methods, problems faced, solutions, equipment used, and cost issues. It is fair to say there are many ways to build a project. There are many types of equipment from which to choose, and many different methods to pursue. For instance, let us consider building of a concrete wall. One foreman can order concrete from a nearby concrete yard. He also can mix concrete on-site. The placement of concrete can be done using buggies or with a pump. A wall can be done in portions or in one concrete pour. The wall can be completed in 1 week or 1 month.
