The New Council Constitutions: The Outcomes and Impacts of the Local Government Act 2000

This is the main research output from a long-term evaluation of new constitutions in English local government. It examines the impact of the new political leadership models on local government, for instance, on performance, and looks at how well the reforms of the 2000 Act have been embedded across the four years since the Act.
