Analysis of the Nonlinear Dynamic Behaviors of a Rolling Bearing-Rotor System

A model was established for a rolling bearing-r ot or system based on rotor dynamics and nonlinear dynamics theory. The nonlinear v ibration of a horizontal rigid rotor supported by a deep groove ball bearing hav ing radial internal clearance is studied. In some typical parameter regions the periodic results, the bifurcation diagrams, the shaft centerline orbit, the phas e portrait, the Poincare maps and the frequency spectrums of the systems are ac quired with numerical integral method. At the same time, the method for calculat ing the Laypunov exponents of a balanced rotor system is used to determine wheth er the system is in a state of chaos motion. The analytic results in this paper provide the theoretical reference for designing this kind of bearing-rotor syst em.
