Regulation of a Steam-generator in an Adaptive Multivariable Way

Abstract This paper presents the realization of the control of a two–inputs–two–outputs process by use of both classical PI controllers together with an adaptive decoupling precompensator. The control–law is implemented on a decentralized–microprocessor–based industrial process–control system that has been conceived essentially for fixed–gains regulators. From the difficulties we met in the implementation, we propose some specifications to increase flexibility of programming for industrial–process–control systems.
