EXPERT SYSTEM FOR WELDING - WELDEX SYSTEM FOR COMPUTER-AIDED OPTIMISATION OF WELDING TECHNOLOGY

This paper deals with the development of an expert system using the Turbo-Prolog programming language. It is intended to serve as a decision aid for the selection of arc-welding processes and to provide useful suggestions as to weld configuration and processing parameters. It can also point up possible weld defects and means of remedying them.
