The Ministry of Knowledge Economy began as a demonstration project regarding geothermal heat pump installation business in order to fight against climate change and reduction of heating costs in 2009. From 2010, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Korea Rural Community Corporation became parent station, and spread it. As a result, it has reached to 88 places in 2013 and it was also expanded fisheries & livestock sector. To examine the heating cost savings due to introduction of geothermal heat pump system, we investigated 9 horticultural greenhouses in Chungcheongbuk-do. A result of the investigation, we found that heating costs are 77.97% compare to existing oil boiler. However, it is necessary to take into account that agricultural electrical charges which are used in geothermal facilities is 60% inexpensive compare to industrial charges. In this study, we analyzed the electricity consumption of each season by collecting annual electric power usage data in 4 horticultural greenhouses. 1) We operated by setting as 20℃ in the daytime, 17℃ at night for internal temperature of greenhouse from September 2011 to August 2012 in A greenhouse(area of 5,358m2) that is growing seeding culture in Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do. Annual electricity consumption of greenhouse was 529,165 kWh. The electricity consumption(286,023 kWh) accounted for 54% of total consumption in winter season(average temperature of ?0.095℃) from December 2011 to March 2012 and the electricity consumption(125,314 kWh) accounted for 24% of total consumption in summer season(average temperature of 24.7℃) from June 2012 to September 2012.
