Research on quadrature mono-bit receiver of pulse based UWB system

Carrier modulation is widely used in pulse based UWB (ultra wideband) communication system to meet the frequency mask set by government. It forces the usage of orthogonal demodulation technique in UWB receiver. Mono-bit sampling is introduced in UWB system for its low power consumption and low complexity. In the paper we proposed a novel quadrature mono-bit receiver for pulsed based UWB system with carrier modulation. We analyze the performance and give a solution of the carrier synchronization with mono-bit sampling.
