Experimental demonstration of RF photonic downconversion from 4–40 GHz

We present downconversion results using our coherent RF-to-bits photonic receiver. Single-digit decibel conversion loss is achieved into the millimeter-wave band. Digitization and linearity of the downconverted signal are also discussed.
