Lamination and Characterization of a Pet Flexible Micro Heat Pipe

A polyethylene-terephthalate (PET) flexible micro h eat pipe (FMHP) for heat dissipation has been fabricated and tested in this paper. The structure of flexible heat pipe consists of PET, Cu tape, Cu mesh and rubber. These materials are all flexible and in expensive. Therefore, the heat pipe can bend and th e wick structure will not collapse. Besides, the fabricati on process in this work can reduce both the materia l cost and machining time. Experiment results reveal that the minimum thermal resistance in this FMHP is 0.157 C/W.
