Comparative performance evaluation of synchronous reluctance machine with outer rotor versus inner rotor

The paper presents the comparative analysis of the performances between Synchronous Reluctance Machine with Inner Rotor and the new topology of Outer Rotor Synchronous Reluctance Machine, both represent a potential candidate for a wide industrial application. The investigation has been made from point of view of mechanical performances (torque value and ripple content), electrical (efficiency, power factor) and active part weight. The analysis of the studied machines will be made numerically using a specialized software (Flux 2D).
