Scattered Parts for Robot Bin-Picking Based on the Universal V-REP Platform

Robot bin-picking is a very important in industry application. Recently, the system of picking scattered parts becomes a new direction. However, there is an obstacle to any brand of industry robot. In this paper, the universal V-REP platform are adopted to communicate the robot and a practical solution of robot bin-picking based on the universal V-REP platform is proposed. The key techniques of robot bin-picking are discussed such as three-dimensional laser scanning, point cloud registration, communication of real robot, communication of V-REP and V-REP simulation. This new method solves the incompatibility of the multi-brand robot in the system of robot bin-picking and achieve the system of scattered parts for robot bin-picking based on the universal V-REP platform, it provides a more efficient solution for future robot bin-picking.
