A framework research of power distribution equipment condition monitoring cloud platform based on RESTful web service

The integration of smart grid and internet of things has been promoted with the development of modern information and communication technology. Taking the internet of things technology framework as a break-through point, this paper study and design a cloud platform of internet of things for power distribution equipment condition monitoring. Here we use smart meters and smart sensors at the end of platform for real-time acquisition including operational parameters and environmental parameters of power distribution equipment, and implement the data transmission through the GPRS wireless network. Besides, we deploy the web application developed by ASP .NET Web API following the RESTful web service specification on the cloud server, which can provide advanced services such as operational monitoring, asset management and data visualization. The cloud platform we propose is fully decoupling in background and front development and super lightweight in architecture while the mobile monitoring is also considered at the same time, which is potential in improving the intelligence and management precision of distribution grid.
