Excess molar volumes, excess isentropic and isothermal compressibilities, and excess molar isochoric heat capacities of [xCF3CH2OH + (1-x){HCON(CH3)2 or CH3CN}] at the temperature 298.15 K

Abstract Densities ρ and speeds of sound u of {xCF3CH2OH + (1-x)HCON(CH3)2} and {xCF3CH2OH + (1-x)CH3CN} were measured at the temperature 298.15 K. Excess molar volumes VEm and isentropic compressibilities KS and excess values KES were estimated from these measurements, and isothermal compressibilities KT and KET , and isochoric molar heat capacities CV, m and CEV, m, were found from the present measurements and excess isobaric molar heat capacities obtained previously. VEmS of both the mixtures were moderately positive. KES and KET of {xCF3CH2OH + (1-x)CH3CN} were positive and of {xCF3CH2OH + (1-x)HCON(CH3)2} were negative. CEV, m s of both the mixtures were negative. Structures in the mixtures and the pure liquids are discussed here in relation to the thermodynamic properties HEm and CEp, m , in addition to the above, and in comparison with {xCF3CH2OH + (1-x)(CH3)2SO} previously reported.
