Security Verification of Location Estimate in Wireless Sensor Networks

Development of theory and technology of wireless sensor network (WSN) has made it possible to satisfy the new demand for location-based services such as location based access control. However, most of existing techniques do not take into account the security of location estimate of some access node whose goal would be to try to confuse the localization system by amplifiers and high gain antennas. We propose a secure location verification (SVLE) algorithm, which is well suited to a service-restricted region. A node will be considered as an adversary if its signal strength is incompatible with the in-region. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
