Hedonic price analysis of workstation attributes

Microcomputers are and will be having a significant impact on large U.S. corporations. Expenditures for microcomputers can become a major component of an organization's information system IS bud get, and the decision process regarding their acquisition is being taken seriously. Studies of purchasing situations at large organizations (e.g., Fortune 500 firms) show companies pay close attention to costbenefit and pricing analyses when making hardware and software investment decisions [22]. A key player in the microcomputer class, and one that is rapidly becoming a significant factor in organizational computing power is the workstation. Workstations are being used where people or groups of people have complicated problems to solve
