Subharmonic Entrainment of Unstable Period Orbits and Generalized Synchronization

Chaos synchronization of nonidentical unidirectionally coupled systems is investigated and characterized in terms of the entrainment ratios of unstable periodic orbits. The implications of subharmonic entrainment for generalized synchronization are discussed and illustrated for discrete and continuous systems.
