Digital Watermarking Technologies Based on Color Modulation for Linking Applications

Digital watermarking technologies are typically used in digital right management applications. The digital watermarking can also be used as a technology which links the printed products and the materials of the digital media. The main goal of this study was to define the optimal color component using digital watermarking in linking applications field. The optimal color component has robustness to distortions caused by image printing and camera phone reading processes. In addition, the printed image should be undistracting enough for human visual system. Based on the result, the blue component of RGB color space was found to be the optimal color component for embedding watermark in images used as a link to digital content.
