Review on Smart Power Flow Controller for Electric Vehicle Connected to Smart Grid

With an increase in demand of electric vehicle, it has become important to control the process of charging/discharging of demands. This paper studies about some of the controllers that have been designed to take present voltage condition and state of charge of battery as an input to decide the proper energy (output) flow between the EVs and grid A controller can be designed using fuzzy logic which will control the energy given or taken from the grid for charging EVs [1]. The amount of energy to be discharged to the grid or taken from the grid can be controlled by using Fuzzy logic controllerthese EVs to grid. A proper coordination between EVs and grid is required such that the stability of grid should be maintained always. In this regard, the vehicle to grid (V2G) connection can be considered where energy from battery can be transferred to grid during off peak conditions. EV battery discharged to the grid can be used as stored energy which can be further used for other load.
