Random access method and related device

The present invention provides a random access method and a related device. The method comprises: receiving a called feature list transmitted by an base station and the called feature list comprising a preset called feature value and a random access parameter corresponding to the called feature value; receiving, at the beginning of a called process, a paging message transmitted by the base station, and the paging message comprising a called feature value corresponding to the called process; according to the called feature value in the paging message, selecting the corresponding random access parameter from the called feature list; and initiating a random access procedure to the base station according to the selected corresponding random access parameter. It is thus clear that the called feature values associated with the called parameters as well as the corresponding random access parameters are preset and then transmitted to various user equipment in advance, in this way, when a called process needs to be initiated to the base station, the user equipment performs a random access procedure of the called type by selecting and using the random access parameter corresponding to the current called feature value, thus enabling an effective control of the system for the called process.
