Accurate slicing algorithm and virtual reconstruction technology of 3D solid

To avoid error of calculation and evaluate the slicing effect,a accurate algorithm of slicing and 3D virtual reconstruction is proposed.By utilizing the functions of 2D profiles extracting and section lines setting of CAD systems,the slicing algorithm outputs a series of section views to manufacturing equipment.The processes of layered manufacturing are completely simulated by 3D virtual reconstruction which converts a series of 2D profiles to the 3D model in CAD systems.Two algorithms of reconstruction are presented to deal with the motion control codes and 2D profile files.A system is developed by secondary development technology based on the SolidWorks,and the case study results verify the feasibility of suggested approach.This method can be achieved at most of 3D CAD systems.
