The Identification and Its Means of Servo Feed Adaptive Control System in WEDM

Summary This paper is about the identification theory of servo feed adaptive control system in WEDM. The author has designed a recurrent identification way, which can on-line identify instantaneous erosion rate and instantaneous normal discharge gap. This identification way has been applied to our AC system of WEDM, which is a micro-computer controlled servo feed system with high ability of identification without feedback loop. It identifies quickly, exactly and completely, so that it follows- machining status closely and feeds steadily, especially when the workpiece has changeful thickness. In principle, this identification way can be applied to AC systems of any EDM.
