A summary of the draft IEEE P1409 custom power application guide

This paper presents an overview of the power conditioning devices classified as custom power controllers that are useful for mitigating voltage sags and interruptions. Principle of operation and basic circuit topologies are described. The paper extracts pertinent information from the IEEE P1409/D9, which is a guide for the application of custom power devices in utility distribution systems.
