Evaluating the potential for spectrally-efficient super-channel formats in brownfield networks with legacy services

This paper shows that a successful combination of super-channels and highly-granular flexible grid networks is intrinsically dependent on the existence of legacy traffic and the occurrence of traffic chum during the network lifetime.
