Xerotomography of the mediastinum and tracheobronchial tree.

Details of mediastinal structures and of bronchi related to pulmonary mass lesions are often poorly displayed on conventional tomography. Xerotomography was compared to conventional tomography in 25 patients with disease affecting the mediastinum and―or the tracheobronchial tree. The xerotomographic study provided better demonstration of mediastinal and hilar masses, tracheobronchial detail and pulmonary vasculature. Overall, the xerotomographic study was more informative.
