SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTIES OF THE METALLIC MOLYBDATE(IV) CaMoO3

Polycrystalline CaMoO3 was prepared by a new method making use of the oxygen stability range, and revealed to have an orthorhombic lattice (a=5.448A, b=7.776A, c=5.582A), metallic conduction and Pauli paramagnetism. The results indicate that 4d2 electrons of Mo4+ are delocalized in CaMoO3 as same as those in BaMoO3 and SrMoO3.
