A new algorithm for through wall human respiration monioring using GPR

The ground penetrating radar (GPR) are widely used in recent years due to its potential applications and unique capabilities, especially in the earthquake search or rescue. In this paper, a novel adaptive line enhancer (ALE) algorithm for human respiration monitoring through obstacle with low-power GPR is presented. The results of through wall experiments show that it is feasible to use this algorithm to monitor the respiration of human target through the obstacle. The correlation of the human target's breathing rate between the simultaneously measured results obtained by our method and by the contact respiratory chest band using Biopac mpl50 measurement system is very good.
