Longitudinal stability of the folding pattern of the anterior cingulate cortex during development

Highlights • Prenatal brain development shapes later cognitive capacities and disease risks.• Sulcal patterns are considered postnatal proxies for early developmental events.• We tested the hypothesis that ACC sulcal pattern is a stable trait during postnatal life.• The ACC sulcal pattern was shown to be stable between childhood and adulthood.• Our findings support the interest of qualitative features of the cortex anatomy.
